JBL GTO638 6.5-Inch 3-Way Speakers (Pair) by JBL http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003KN2TF8/..._t1V.sb1BK3GRD

JBL GTO528 5.25-Inch 2-Way Loudspeaker (pair) by JBL http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003KN2TEE/..._21V.sb0M7N5PM

4x6 to 5.25" Jeep 1997-2006 Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited LJ TJ Front Dash Aftermarket Speaker Adapter by CIP http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GW4EDGK/..._M2V.sb1XY3521

Got all this after tons of research on Polk kicker and others. And it is awesome! Read the reviews on speakers. Many that own Polk say these are better. Now that I own them. I think it's amazing. First speakers I hear a huge difference from. Most mild to nothing. Previous were pioneer. They sounded well blah I guess compared to these crisp and sharp. Amazing detail.

An amp would help, but I am betting if you have an aftermarket receiver you will be fine.

Polks are awesome and the MM series look wicked. But with cost in mind, pioneer, kicker and any of those similar priced speakers are good, and will be loud if you boost them with an amp.

If you let a sub handle all the bass then the speakers don't have to work as hard and you can pump them louder

I ran an alpine head unit with JL speakers for a while with no amp. It really wasn't enough so I added a JL amp. It really helped when the top is off. JL audio have quality stuff, just not on the cheap. Hope to add another amp and sub this summer.

Polks are excellent have had them in every ride I have owned! Their new PaD500.1 amp is outstanding runs Rf-Lf @100 x 2 and RR-LR @100x2 and a sub channel @ 400x1 kicks the living snot out of my 8" Polk MM I had put in the factory sub in the console.

Yes stock location. I did have to drill new screw holes in the sound bar. Very easy. I had to cut behind my dash too because I have a 2000 I believe 2001 and up it's not needed.

These guys know what they're talking about. Honestly there's a speaker thread every week and we all recommend the same stuff. One brand is not going to be superior to the other if they're just well built speakers.

Just know this - Upgrade your dash to 5 1/4 with these adapters
TJ 5.25 Speaker Adapters

and fit your soundbar with 6 1/2s. I personally prefer polk because of their water resistant qualities!

But you are not wrong in the slightest for choosing a different company with good reputation. Good luck friend

Just a heads up the adapters I posted point the speaker forward the nalin point them towards the floor. For people following this. I prefer forward over pointed at the floor. Can't imagine anyone preferring floor.

Ok thanks….. on your post you have a total of 4 speakers and 2 mounting brackets. What did you use for the speaker in the center console? or am I missing it.?

My year didn't have that. I actually have subs behind my backseat on an amp. I have no experience with the center console one. Sounds cool to have though.

Happy with my Polk dB's (5.25 front and soundbar) and kicker replacement sub powered by a blaupunkt head unit.

Plenty loud for top off driving and sound is clear.

In 05, there was a std 4 speaker system, or a 7 speaker system that included a powered subwoofer in the center console.

No 5.25. 6.5 fit fine in the hole but new holes must be drilled for the screws as they are about a 1/4 inch further out.

I have had several vehicles in the past that I have done complete audio systems with. Your best bet will be a lower end Focal with kevlar cone $130-200 a pair or a Rockford Fosgate series 3 $120-150 a pair. But you won't be disapointed

I ordered these speakers last night, I have a 05 so I’ll need to find a subwoofer for the console. so the 6.5 are for the sound bar and the 5.25 are for the dash, Right?
Thanks for your help.

Take a look at the Kicker CVT 8" slim subwoofer. Great fit & sound. Installed in my '01.
