Speaking of oil filters..

Anyone interested in a higher capacity, industrial oil filter for your 4.0?

A friend of mine, and a buddy of his, have been running these. If it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling to increase your capacity by a quart or so, this might be for you. Anti-drain back valve, 99% efficiency. I believe the relief valve is slightly less than the Mobil filter, for instance, but if you keep your oil clean, I don't see an issue.

If you keep your oil clean, the last thing you need is a larger filter.

The last thing? I suppose you're going to tell me why it's a bad idea to have a larger filter

What is the point? If you change your oil at regular intervals, then the OE size filter is more than enough to keep this engine running for 300,000 miles or more. Besides, it's only a 40 micron filter. If you wanted to extend service intervals, I would recommend a 2 micron bypass filter in conjunction with the OE filter.
