Spider web shade idea

I love my half cab spider web shade for the simple fact that I never need to remove it to completely cover up. I could live without the web part though.

I was watching tv late last night and saw that stupid flex seal commercial. When it got to the screen door boat part I had an idea. I think I am going to try and spray my shade with plasti dip to make it a solid cover.

My questions are

1. Has this been done?
2. Is there something like this on the market?
3. Does anybody think this will work?

I got rid of my bikini top for the spider web shade. I'm looking for the best of both. Solid but does not need to be removed.

It will flap a lot more when it's solid.

Flapping is not much of a worry. Mine is not attached with the bungie cords. I attached it with para-cord so it is tighter than normal.

I like that idea.

It is a bit of a pain to get it even from side to side. I used zip ties to lock in into place so I didn't have to keep messing with the para-cord. Once I got it tight and straight I tied it off and cut the zip ties.

Why not leave the zip ties in place and just wrap it in 550 cord?

I only used the tie wraps to lock it in place so it wouldn't keep shifting. It's rock solid now. Plus the ties were bright blue.
