Spiderweb Shades Installed!

Just got'em today. Pretty cool. Got home too late for pics today but will post tomorrow. Anyone else try them out. The manufacturer/owner is great and put them on for me right in the shop.

I have the spider web shade and really like it. I keep in on under the soft top as well. It really is quite simple to put on but if I could have gotten this girl to do it for me I would not have hesitated.

has anyone tried making thier own shade? It doesn't look like anything but strechable fabric and grommets with ball bungees. It would be cheaper, but don't get me wrong those look really nice, if I had the cash I would get the trail meshTheShadeCage for sure.

I would guess if you could get the right material, cut, sew, seal seams, etc... it would prob work???

The fabric isn't stretchable. The Spiderweb shades are very well made. The grommets aren't just punched through the edges. The material is folded over a strip of nylon and the gromet goes through all three layers. One could replicate it at home, but I don't know how much money you would actually save. I've just got the basic SW1 and love it.

I own one of theirs and made one of my own. They aren't hard to make, but sewing the fabric can be a bit of a challenge. And you'll spend at least half what Spiderweb charges for one, by the time you buy the grommets, mesh, bungies etc....
