Sport into a Rubicon...Rubiort

So I am getting front and rear D44's from a Rubicon and I am also getting a 241 transfer case. All this stuff is out of a 2004 Rubicon and I am putting it in a 2003 Sport that has D30 and D35 axles with a 231 transfer case.

Will this be a direct bolt up, or are there some little got ya's that I will have to look out for? I know I will likely have to get a perportioning valve for the brakes, but anything else?

Looking for some help. Thanks I have a few weeks before taking on this little project, but I am hoping I will be able to do all this in one weekend seeing that I have to drive my jeep to work on Monday.

did you get the drive shaft too? Your drive shaft for the D35 is to long for the D44. plus the d-shaft from the rubi t-case to the D44 is a double c shaft.

if you dont think you can do both in one week end you can alway do one end at a time. just leave the front d-shaft out till you get them both in. You can do the t-case and rear ,,, then when you get time the front end.

I am going to ask for them, I am wondering if that will be able to plug in to my dash so the dash locker lights will come on. Anyone know?

Yes the lights should work once you install the switch using a factory wiring diagram. I hate inuiring about money... but if it is not an intrusion of your privacy, how much did you pick all that up for? I want to eventually do this to mine, except without the 241 case(i dont crawl over stuff that needs that low a ration) and want to know what is a good price when i go searching.

We can do it in 1 day Tony. Just let me know when! I didn't do anything to my brakes. I am using the '05 master cylinder / brake boost on the 4 - disk set up. It seems to work just fine. And yes, it is a smoking deal!!! trust me!

dang that is a nice deal. you won't have to get a sye since your getting the rubi tcase. all you need is a cv driveshaft to eliminate vibes if you have any.

For the abs as long as the rubi had it no prob there needs to be the spot for the wheel speed sensors on the axles.

My rubi does not have ABS, so I cannot give you any part numbers or anything. If your Jeep was already equiped with ABS, and all you are doing is swapping axles, all you should need to do is make sure the D44 has hubs with speed sensors in them. If it doesn't, you can replace the hubs.

Im not sure that rubi's even had ABS though (03-06)? I looked for a few months for a Rubicon with ABS, and couldn't find any. Finally gave up and found the one I have now. Still don't think I have ever seen one yet, except the new ones Might want to call the dealer and inquire about a hub with a speed sensor for the rubicon D44s.

yep you will need the new hubs if the old ones don't have abs.

the rubis did not come with ABS that i am aware of.
they also did not have CV shafts, they just dont use a slip yoke, no need for SYE.
im not sure if the parking brake connection would be the same either, rubis have 4 wheel disk brakes with a internal drum brake/parking brake.
i believe the rubi 44's use the 30/35 outer knuckles, i guess if you really wanted ABS you could swap in the front anyway, the rear would be a different story.
I'd just ditch the ABS
