Squeaky steering colum

Anyone know how to keep it quiet?

I just fixed this on mine a couple days ago.
Look under the dash and right where the steering column comes through the firewall, you'll see a rubber coupling. Spray that with some lithium grease.
That's all I did, and it's been completely silent
Hopefully that's all you'll have to do too

Yea I did the same thing with WD40, worked great!

that rubber boot is actually a two piece deal . Slide the cone piece that is tight to the column up towards the steering wheel . You will then see how the two pieces have a tongue and groove type connection . I put wheel bearing grease in that connection and up the intermediate shaft where the boot touches it so no matter what spins is lubed and quiet . 2 minute job .

WD-40 is a solvent and, at best, a very poor lubricant that will evaporate fairly quickly. The above suggested white lithium grease, available in an aerosol can, is highly recommended for this problem as it is 100% effective and very long lasting.

When you have a choice, buy American.
