Squeal on startup even w/ serpentine belt off

Hello. I have a 1997 TJ with the 4 liter & a 5 speed manual transmission - all original; it has about 59k original miles on it. Recently when I start it up I get a high pitched squeal for about 1 - 2 seconds right upon startup. I've removed the serpentine belt and it still does it, which makes me believe it's not the water pump or power steering pump, etc. If I turn it off and re-start right away it still makes the squeal. However, if I run it for 30 - 60 minutes and turn it off and start it right up it sometimes makes it (although it's much less pronounced) but there are also times where it doesn't. If it's not been previously run, it always makes the noise. Could this be an indication of the oil pump going bad? When I do start it the oil pressure gauge takes a second or two to move. Does anyone have any experiences like this or thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Does it still do it after you start it up and let the clutch out? Sounds kind of like a throwout bearing to me.

It does it right after startup and lasts for only about 1 - 2 seconds so I've not been able to let the clutch out while it makes the noise to see if the noise stops or not.

Umm, you have a clutch override switch.
Make sure it's in neutral, turn the switch on and try it.

Only other thing it may be is a starter starting to go bad on you.
