Stabilizing my Jeep

I am the least mechanical person on this forum I'm sure.... so I apologize up front if this seems like an ignorant question.

I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler Sport. I will never take it off road. I spend a great deal of time on the highway. I had a Nissan Maxima previously. I was able to put on sway bars, strut braces, different struts and springs, etc to help stabilize my driving experience on the road.

Are there similar modifications that I can make to my Wrangler? If so, are there recommended brands? I don't want to lift it, just really tighten up my driving experience.

Is there such a thing as a short throw shifter for the Wrangler?

If this has already been discussed can someone please direct me to the thread?

Thank you so much everyone in advance for your advice.
Ryan

Short throw shifter

As far as tightening up the suspension, you could look into an Anti-Rock sway bar for the front (the rear doesn't do much) that has a couple of different rate attachment points, but I don't believe any of them are tighter than stock.

The other option is getting some adjustable valve shocks. I think Rancho makes a couple different ones.

Dumb question but would a short throw shifter make any difference with 2nd gear grinding and 4th being finiky?

All a short throw shifter does is tighten up the shifts so you dont need to move the stick that much to get it in gear. What you have sounds like a tranny problem maybe syncros going?

Is there a crying face to post...? *Oh fudge. *This TJ is starting to turn into a nightmare. That's it, I'm hitt'n the trails tomorrow and I'm gonna give it hell! That's the only way I'm gonna find out what it's weak spots are. What ever breaks I'm fine with, I'll upgrade it as it breaks. The trails are close to home so I don't care but, I still owe $ on this thing.

Trade it for a honda civic, or put a lowering kit on it.
