starting, electrical issue 2000 wrangler

help!

this week my 2000 wrangler sport 6 cylinder had a very short electrical issue to the dash, the gages shut down, the mileage read something like null, lasted a couple of seconds, hit a bump and gages came back on.
it did this 2 x that I noticed on different days.

last night as it started, it hesitated just long enough for me to notice a slow start.
I had to work today, and at 5:50am it started, but slow again.
I work in the city, had no tools along so while figuring it was either alternator or battery, I didn't do anything until till heading home.

An even slower start that I wasn't turning off till I got home.
all the way home the voltmeter read 13.5 so I think it's charging, the battery is only 1 1/2 yr's old

get home, turn it off, wait 10 secs, go to start, and it takes 2-3 secs, way to long,
I pull it in back by tools
in house for 10 mins, go back down, put charger on it, charger reads battery full

I let it sit with a charger on it,
bring my daughter down so I can listen to it
pull the charger,
she turns key.
nothing
no start, no click ,
nothing

put the charger back on boost,
turn key, a rapid clicking from the starter,.. no start,
ok,.. more tools

I pull the starter, AutoZone tests it bad, get new and home to replace it
bolt in, hook up, rehook battery,
starts first time,
cool
except that i have a turn signal I needed to rehook,
so, I turned off the jeep
rehooked the turn signal, went to start the jeep, dash lit up, 1 click and nothing,...

not pretty, zip,...
ok, nothing, lets think,......

check all connections, they seem fine, I decide to loosten and rehook positive cable,
try it again, turn key, dash lights up! 1 click,.... than nothing

now at this point it's late, I'm thinking I'll wait till tomorrow, put away tools, clean up,
figure someone here will know exactly where to logical electrical connection that is bad is,......
but I decide to check again,

check all connections, loosten and retighten positive cable,
turn key, dash lights up, 1 click and nothing again
so,...
at this point
I've got the charger on it, even tho it says battery is fully charged
after this beer I'll see what it does,....

I keep thinking bad ground, or,....???

needless to say
HELP!!!

I hand the same kinda starting problem after trying to start if after 7 months of sitting. I didn't pull any thing apart I just ended up getting new battery cables for both pos and neg after they said it was good. Started right up after that.
I also have the Guatemala problem with my tack and speedo. They like to zero out once in a while and when they do that my e break light comes on. Nothing affected but its kinda weird.
I read that if the ghagra do that just smack the top of the dash and they come back on. Worked for me.
Let me know what happens.

try getting something round that's bigger than your batt post, put so it misses the post but is on the batt clamp and give it a few 'soft' taps and try it. mine started fine for 1 1/2 yrs then 1 day in a parking lot i'd get nothing, few clicks, nothing, few clicks-etc. looked and everything looked ok(neg batt clamp was tightened as far as the bolt would go) but could turn by hand. gave it a few taps, started right up. got it home, changed the clamps and has been fine since. sounds like a bad connection/ground somewhere. start at the batt and clean/replace(if needed) reconnect all connections.
