Though I'm not really a big Skyjacker fan, I'm running one of their steering box skids and it's very beefy. It's not the most easily installed item I've ever installed but it's well designed and built.

i bought mine used.. made of 1/4'' steel, its pretty beefy.. looks pretty much like the rokmen one except without the little empty space in the front of it.. oh and its 1/4'' and not 3/16''..

i havent installed it yet.. ive been slacking =D ive had it since before i even bought my original procomp lift last summer.. i finally got it sand blasted and painted.. itll be going in when i do the front axle swap in a week or so

I use this one:

http://ringwoodjeeps.com/_wsn/page5.html

its 1/4" too.

also, it protects the pitman nut a little better than some other skids, not just the box. Although I've never heard of anyone hitting their pitman nuts on the rocks with the kilby and tons of people are using the kilby and it works great. ALso the Kilby bolts to the frame in more places than the ringwood so that may make the kilby the better choice.

They are all good as long as you have one. Genright makes a good one now too

here is a side photo of the kilby:

and here is a side photo of the ringwoodjeeps skid:

Sorry. I forgot about you being unable to see pics. (girls in bikinis cleaning a dirty, dirty jeep ) It looks to me like the fabtech offers a little more side protection then the kilby and the other one.

Kilby here. I don't have any complaints about it and it seems to do the job as designed. I will say that it is one piece of armor that has gotten smacked a few times.

Best pics I could find that show the steering box skid.
