steering box skid

so twice now i've been on the trail approaching some rocks and have hit my steering box. Luckly there are only a few small chips on it but i know sooner than later im gonna destroy it. I'm thinking about getting the rock ready skid plate from quadratec, anyone have any opinions or recomendations?

They are all pretty much the same thing with different names. The Gen-Right is your best bang-4-buck deal.

THey really are all pretty much the same. I forget who made this one I have (click on the small pic to get a better closeup):

compare it to the kilby though...

the kilby kindof leaves the pitman nut exposed... exposed nuts?

but they are really meant to protect the steering box... I never heard of anyone hitting and breaking a pitman nut so both designs are good
