Lot's have just masked off area and used plasti-dip. some bed liner spray.. I just went with some rubberized undercoating that I already had around.. Your choice though. Good luck..

Ok should I mask off behind the grill so it doesn't get on the radiator? And which would stick better? I have some plasti dip but last time I used and removed it it took off clear coat with it

I stuck a piece of poster board in front of the radiator, have not used plasti dip, but others have said it just peels off with no issues..

I used liquid sandpaper, basically a de-glosser to prep, then wipe clean. Did four light coats "after each dried", that is important part....Good luck.

I regret not pulling the entire grille to paint it, but I prepped very little and ended up getting overspray between where the fender meets the grille. It's not terrible, but I definitely wish I had prepped better. Just spend some time making things off and you'll be fine to leave it on.
