Sticking with a Tj

Test drove an 07... Nice?.... Yes.... Want one?.....ehhh.... No.

Very nice but felt way to much like a car and big, also I expected more go. She was kinda a lug.

I don't wheel (yet) bot couldn't imagine doing so with the jk. Felt like i was driving a van, but guess I'm used to my Tj : )

And best yet as posted in another thread, I got denied hardcore by a Tj driver and he looked mean, could see the nasty look on his face... O well it was funny.

Im sure the rubi Jk is sick, but i dunno how to explain it. You here people that bought a Jk said they did not look back.
I only drove it for 15 minutes but it did not feel like a jeep to me

I grew up with CJs and had a YJ in high school. I didn't like the TJ at first but after staring at the brochure for hours, it grew on me and ive owned a bunch since. The TJ may feel rugged to some but for me it's a perfect balance, still rugged but also has creature comforts. The JK no way! IMO, a Wrangler should not have a plastic grille, remote power locks or power windows! I might think different about them if they weren't calling it a Wrangler. A co-worker has a JKU and was bragging about getting 19mpg, It shut him up when I told him that it was because it has a PU$$y motor in it. I'm all about inlines, 4 or 6. Long live the TJ, I'll always have one even if WF has a thread on "converting to electric" in 30 years (if I'm still alive).

So true, I have never got a wave back from one of them and there are a lot around here. Hell I get waves from grand Cherokees and Commanders before I do them, so sad...

How do you wheel a JK with all the electronics on it? Couldn't get it wet or muddy, I guess they changed their demographic to soccer moms. I do keep getting calls from Carmax wanting to buy my TJ back, they won't pay me 50k lol!

Haha true that I really cant stand this whole jkowners forum thing imo why would you want to keep tj owners out of a forum.

Same way you wheel a TJ with all its electronics, lol. The JK doesnt really have anything much different besides the electric sway bar disconnect, which surprisingly works extremely well.

Actually JKowners.com has a TJ tech section. Even though the JK is a wrangler like the TJ...its a completely different breed. Having a model specific forum isnt a bad thing.

It may be a different breed but we all have the luxury of having our own opinions. Times change, I don't want a JK, but I have friends that love them. Us old skoolers need to adapt and accept it. I bet most JK owners that are members of this forum waves at all CJ, YJ, and TJs, the ones that don't wave also call it "their car".

Hmmm, I wonder why?... hmmm, let's see... let me read some of the things TJ owners say.... Oh yeah, that's probably why.

Have your fun boys.

I think deep down you're just jealous I can do all that I can do stock that you have to go aftermarket to achieve and, I can do it in luxury. hehehe. Love my electric windows, locks, swaybar disconnect, and lockers. Love the extra room you don't have and love the extra clearance for real-sized tires instead of those overweight bicycle tires you drive on. I love being able to set the cruise control at 80MPH and cruise down to the trails, wait while the have-nots lay on the ground in front of the rigs disconnecting their sway bar, then hit the trails hard, pulling out the occasional TJ that gets hung up doing the single-wheel spin & grin or can't handle the ruts on their 29 or 30" tires. Then, when it's time to head back home, wave goodbye to the TJs as their owners are once again on the ground reconnecting and looking forward to watchinig grandma in the delta 88 pass them on the interstate on their slowazz trip home. LOL

Ok, that's all I've got. I know, it's not much.

I love my TJ too!! Anything that gets me off-road with great friends and the chance to make new ones and have a blast is alright with me. I guess all my YJ friends have been through all of this already and are just hanging back having a chuckle or two.

I appreciate that you wave back to grand Cherokees and commanders. I want a sticker for my commander that says I have a wrangler too! I wave at every jeep and never get them back except for three people that I know I'm my area that wave. I don't even get waves in my tj.

I love it when folks in everyday, ordinary cars wave at us. We laugh because we know their other vehicle is a Jeep and they're waving out of habit. I've done that.

Yeah I do that constantly in the bus or semi. You get strange looks. I take pictures of the nice ones that gets odd looks too.
I waved at a guy going door less one time and he waved back with his foot. That was a first.

I like my TJ, don't really care for the JK's styling. Wife had mentioned wanting a 4 door but after so many failures on the Liberty she owns she says she will never own another Jeep of any kind. Ya'll like your JK's is fine with me, I don't need all the bells and whistles of electronic locks and windows. Maybe when they install electronic zippers on those soft tops you might have something.

I was at the dealer yesterday to get a part. I looked at the new Wranglers. There is NO WAY I'd consider swapping for a new one.

The new Wranglers have lost their soul. All that plastic and the curved windshield-all that luxury crap-all that 'wannabe' fake looking weekend warrior stuff just ain't for me.

I wanna feel the bumps, hear the tranny gears whine, listen to the soft top flutter, and stand out from the soccer mom crowd. Whenever I see a woman driving a new Jeep, she looks 'high maintenance' to me. When I see a man drivingone, I think he bought it to please his high maintenance wife. LOL!

But, that's just me, and that's the way I think
