Stinger bumpers

I am looking to get a stinger for my TJ. Or some other nice front bumper. But I like stingers. Anyone have any thoughts or advice on which to buy? Which do you guys like?
And don't forget pics If you have any.

First question. Do you want a stinger that is just for looks? Or do you want one that will perform off road the way they were designed to

Off road. Not just for looks. I went on a trail for the first time and there were a nice pill of rock that everyone was going over so I went and I was doing good until on the way down I slipped on a loose rock and hit the top of my stock bumper and barely missed hitting my grill.

You'd have to measure the angle from where your front tires touch the ground up to the end of the bumper. Then the stinger you choose should continue that angle

Well i'm kinda biased since I have a stinger . Its an Olympic 4X4 and it beefy. I think its angle could be decreased a bit but it works. See how the end (almost for me) lines up with the tire? Just ignore the XJ

Oh I like that one I saw that on quadratec. Do all stingers go directly onto the frame like that? Not that I care but it's good to no.

All (useful) stingers should either be reinforced to a bumper or have mount holes so that it can be bolted to the frame like mine. So if he Jeep starts troll forward the stinger can do its job and keep the frame from rolling.

I like the ones that have the secondary part that supports the main hoop like mine does

I really like the look if that Vaultzz, but is it just me, or does it make the head lights look square? That can't be right.

IMO Stingers are ugly. But if I were to buy a bumper with a stinger I'd want a radiator hoop to tie it into like this Gen-Right one.

I love the genright stinger but if it was me id have to fab a support on each side to go from the back of the radiator hoop to the frame. Thats just me though I can be overly paranoid about strength.

I like the olympic better than the smittybilt. Other thing to consider is the quality and reputation of smittybilt. Most people on this forum are going to say, stay away from smittybilt due to the lack of quality. However me having no experience with smittybilt bumpers, I am going on looks, and I like the olympic better.

I have heard alot of negativity towards smittybuilt are the bumpers that bad, I am in the market for a stinger as well and am just wondering if all the "smittybuilt is crap" comments are true. If so I will steer away from anything they make.
