stock bumper mods

I working on a stock bumper mod
lets see what others have done

here's what i did
cut 30 degree angles on the end
cut and welded end caps on
welded all front holes closed
bent and welded a solid bar for the stinger

Nice job looks good

IMO I'd upgrade that mini stinger a little, its too dinky to match the beefyness of the rest of the jeep

Just noticed that you wanted to see other stock mods mine has to be the cheapest out there, I took a grinder right down the side of the stinger and drastically increased my approach angle

i dont have a stock bumper. my jeep came with an aftermarket bumper when i bought it used at a dealership. I wish i could mod out a stock bumper tho cuz my bumper is kinda lame

How does the width of the bumper increase approach angle?

That's not the definition of approach angle. Approach angle has to do with how much overhang is ahead (or behind, in the case of the rear) of the tires.

This was on my old YJ but I plan on doing the same think to my TJ.


This was the stock chrome c-channel bumper.
