Stock tires 2001 sport tj

What size tires came on my jeep inside door says 215 70r 15 i think hard to read.

Has 30 9.50 15 on now want to go to original size

So 215 75 15 is what came on my jeep if thats in the door jam correct

So would i get better milage going back to 215 size tires getting18.6 now last tank mostly hwy65mph

I get that with 31s. I doubt you'll see an abundance of improvement going down. Not to say that you won't, but you're not going to break any records.

Honestly I've been thinking the same thing since I commute 250 miles a week for work, but I prefer to look of my 31s. In fact, I put my spare 30 on yesterday just to see how it looks, but didn't care for it. If you do step down I'd be curious to see how much it actually improves. I'll be replacing my tires this year & as much as I like my 31s if I knew I could squeeze at least 4 more mpgs per mile I might be persuaded.

Om the same way right now i know it wont look as good but more miles per tank would be great
