Stock TJ biggest tire? Millionth ask sorry

Searched but can't find a thing. What is the biggest tire I can do on stock TJ. I plan on putting 15x8 crager's on it when I find a used set. Is 31x10.5 the biggest? can I go 33x10.5?

Thanks,
Jim

Do you plan on wheeling it?

if you don't flex the suspension you could get away with 31's but that is a tight fit. Maybe stick with 30's just to be safe. You can probably find pictures on here of guys running 31's with stock suspension. I ran 31's with a 2 inch lift and that worked well. i had 30's on stock suspension before that.

33's will rub if they go over a big bump, or hit a speed bump going too fast, but yeah they'll fit stock with aftermarket wheels as long as they stay onroad. Here's a pic of mine on 33's before the lift... Drove it for 2 weeks this way, on road only, minor rubbing up front at full lock...

Edit: FWIW, Rubicon TJ's came stock with 31's, they fit fine on a stock suspension.. Depending on actual width they may rub slightly with stock wheels, but adjusting the steering stops with a washer or two fixes it easily....

Thanks so much. That thing looks gooooodddd!!! Love it those are the rims I need an love the 33's. Were not killin it but I guess be nice for her to crank the wheel for parkin lots na crap. Otherwise these tires I got are 31x10.5's so almost junk anyway. I'll get threw winter so we can enjoy it and get into a 4" lift im sure and do some 33's on that so would be real nice.

I have 33s with a 2" BB. Have been driving it on road for about 2 weeks with no issues. I do have 4" of BS on my wheels. I will not be taking it off road until I finish the mods. I am looking at flat fenders, a 1" BL, or possibly doing a highline hood ( on my own not the kit) to gain some flex. I like the low COG idea/look.

Seeing Rita with her top on is just weird. I'm not used to that.

Yeah Josh, it just ain't natural..... But I don't like being cold either....

251.... If you trim your flares and don't disco, you can go offroad with your set up, the suspension is somewhat crippled, but hubby put mine through all sorts of junk on the same set up you have now, except for the flares. I trimmed about an inch off them to keep from rubbing....

I got 31's on a stock suspension. My pro comp rims have a 4.5 back space I believe. No rubbing so far ( put them on about 8 hours ago). Had them on my YJ and the were fine. I do however have a set of 30's with a lot of thread for sale if interested.

Can you fit 34" tires on a 4" lift on a 4 banger?
