So I just got stuck in a flooded dirt road and it took 2 1/2 hours till i got out :banghead:
the tow truck finally got there and he was just :banghead::banghead::banghead:
but i got her out of the water and was wondering if there is any damage i need to look for? or care that needs to be done? everything is running well she seems fine i just am very over cautious.
also what is the longest you have ever been stuck??
I didn't think Rubi's ever got stuck? Got stuck one time too. Had to call the Forest Service to come fetch me. He got stuck. It was not a good day. I had the winch installed inside of two weeks!
yeah there was a guy that lived close and he brought his truck down and i tried to hook up my wench to it but i just pulled his truck toward me... hhaha
I took a couple from the inside but it was pissing rain outside and i didnt wana get my iPhone 4 wet
hahha
and i just had all those fluids replaced about 2 weeks ago so you really think i should have them replaced again?? I am not completely positive that my diff was even completely under water
I had the habit of playing on some local trails with water up over the axles, one spot to the top of the tires...until I had to replace all the bearings, universals, driveshaft....my 'happy to see me squeek in' mechanic pointed out how the water carries all the minute particles of SAND into every crevice, nook, and cranny...and if grease can get OUT of a bearing or fitting, WATER and SAND can get INTO IT....and I did not have the habit of PRESSURE WASHING the entire underside immediately after coming off a trail.
I do it now! He says going through stuff like that is a real killer for jeeps and moneymaker for his shop!
Whether not not you will need to change all your fluids or not depends on how deep the water was, and what the fluids look like upon inspection. Note: My 03 Rubicon with the auto has the breather tube already extender up the firewall stock.
