Question Stupid Question

Ok, so I went to the VIN Decoder that was listed on another thread, and it told me that I had the SE, which is correct because I have the 2.5L. However the side of my '99 says Sport all over it. According to the VIN Decoder, it shows this information:
1: Built By Chrysler Corp
J: Jeep
4: Multipurpose Passenger Vehicle
F: 4001 - 5000# (1815 - 2267 kg) GVWR & Hyd. Brakes
Y: Wrangler (4x4)
2: Wrangler "SE"(ALA PKG)(CANADA "TJ" SE)
9: Open Body
P: 2.5L 4 CYL Gasoline (MPI)-Unleaded (EPE)
9: Check Digit
X: 99
P: Toledo Assembly #2 (Toledo, OH)
Body Code: TJJL77
Engine: EPE 2.5L I4 Power Tech Engine
Transmission: DGD 3-Spd. Automatic 30RH Transmission
Build Date: May 05, 1999

Am I missing something that would be the reasoning for the "Sport" badges on the side or is that just something they slapped on there to make it look better?

PO probably put them on there because the SE doesn't come with side stickers except for the one that says JEEP.

dunno

IDK if you can see it really well in this picture, but it's kind of a, well, horrible purple / grey stripey decal on the side and right at the back of the rear quarter panel it says in the same color scheme as the stripey decal "Sport". I removed one of them just to see if I could, and I am pretty sure they are factory. It was a PITA!!! I will get a better pic of the one that's still on there tonight.

It could've just been done professionally. I doubt Chrysler would have put that on an SE TJ. People put Rubicon stickers on their hoods too even if they have a non-Rubi Jeep.

Yeah I think I'd be taking those stickers off also! (nice shade of pink though)
