Don't post on a thread entitled "subs" if you think they're such an affront to the jeep gods!
Hmm? I love subs i got 2 12's in the back and i sure do go offroading haha i think jeeps are very customizableim just trying to say that when people deviate from the norm they'll catch some crap? I think were fighting on the same side no friendly fire bro! :P

Anyone ever seen or have a roll bar mounted sub enclosure? Like a second sound bar behind the main hoop with shallow mount 8" or 10" woofer...you could even mount the amp along side it...just a thought.

I have seen subs mounted on roll bars but not on Jeeps. There might not be enough space for a sub to operate. You might be able to get away with 8's up there, or a bazooka tube

I do hate chrome, but it has its place... anyways the Jeep spirit is all about freedom to go and do what you want. so gtfo if you dont like it do whatever you want. we own jeeps for a reason, we our own people. make your jeep your own... anyways. if someone trys to steal your amp or stuff just shoot them. Thats what I did. amplified aftermarket speakers and a sub or two do make your music sound better, and actually audible during topless driving. and Ill admit it SUCKS now that I dont have mine... so theres no doubt in if you should have one

Keep in mind in a lot of area underglows are not only useless, but illegal...not always enforced unless they use a restricted color such as blue lights which are reserved for police vehicles or if your bulbs are visible from outside the vehicle.

I agree underglows are useless...but it's not because they serve no function on a Jeep, but they serve no function on any vehicle. They are simply a trend of the import/Fast and the Furious generation. Underglow neons, windshield LEDs, fart pipes (with or without flame thrower kits), etc...they serve no purpose whatsoever except to look goofy to everybody else. My $.02...if you want to run them, I'm not gonna try to stop you either.

Personally,
I'm in line with believing a sub has no place in a Jeep also.

Just recently had some killer speakers put in roll bar and dash that are MORE THAN efficient enough to not warrant needing a sub, although I have thought about it! They don't sound like blown tweeters with top off either, as one poster said his did.

To each his own though. It's YOUR Jeep. Do what ever you want to do to it.

BOOM BOOM BOOM, I just rolled by ur house.... Actually I listen to my music for me not the cars next to me, but it is normally turned down when either in town, close to a neighborhood, or kids in the car. I have had subs in every vehicle I have owned since highschool (alot). Personal preference is what it boils down too. Take it or leave it.

I did a full system in mine and it rips. Its worth the money in my mind. Put the sub in the "trunk" get a slim sub also I suggested the 13.5 JL Audio TW-5 constant 600rms power rating along with JL C2 speakers. its the way to go

Good thing to see another guy knows what is good, I am JL for life. All my other vehicles are all JL, but in this toy I got this little Mono fosgate amp and I am very impressed. Fits under the driver's seat too.

I plan on mounting a shallow truck sub 10" along with 2 6x9's on the roll bar, where the two speaker pods go. Don't think I've ever seen it and I don't understand why. It would look so clean, hide all the wires in the roll bar wraps. Also putting some led dome lights in!

I put a 10" rockford Fosgate sub behind the rear seat. Found a small sealed box on craigslist for $20. Mounted my 1600 watt sony amp and my kicker 400 watt amp under the rear seat with ratchet straps. Put two sony 6x9's in truck boxes and they fit perfectly behind the rear seat and 1" tweeters mounted on the windshield frame. It's def doable. You cant even see any of this unless you open the gate and lift the rear window, no space sacrifice either.

Oh and by the way a loud stereo belong in ALL vehicles, doesn't mean you have to bump or go boom down the trail. Personally I listen to classic rock and country and drums were meant to be heard that's why they're in the band also.

Like someone posted earlier, its for me, not the guys next to me.
