suggestions

what up guys,

ok so here is the deal im gettion about 800 dollars to spend on my jeep from the government (tax money) and i don't know what to spend it on im chossing between three things 1- getting 2 subs 1 amp and custom box which would spend all or 2- getting front and rear bumper W/tire carrier which would take up all the money or 3- getting headers and have a couple hundred left. just wondering what y'all opinions were

thanks

personally i would go for armor (front and rear bumpers) but if your rig is a mall crawler you might wanna sound good with a system or if your goin for performance, get headers. Just try to break it down into what you do most and invest in that

well you might just be able to get away with some nicer door speakers that would be able to handle you adjusting the bass up, or maybe get a sound bar, i think they are around 150$ and they might give you that little extra bump. But then again im not really the guy to be talking to about a system

The ONLY real way to get a little bump is to get a 8" or larger sub and an amp that can handle it. Soundbars are no good for bump, but really make the music sound good when working with a sub as well.

I'll give you detailed advice on what to do. It will only cost you about $800.

they make subs that will fit under the seat. i had the clarion and it was a waist of money. there are some nice ones out there. crutchflield has some nice ones.

Just don't get the 6.5 inch one, it won't give enough bump to justify buying it.

Just remember any stereo equipment you install in your Jeep is one thing more somebody else can steal. Armor, bumpers are not attractive to a stereo theif.

Just bolt them down or make them impossible to steal like mine. My subs can't be removed unless the tailgate is open, and mine stays locked all the time. (if anyone plans to bolt down subs, make sure you put the bolts inside the sub box.

look into an all in one enclosure. i have a 250 watt rockford fosgate 8" bass tube all in one, and it sounds better than some 10s. easy to install and fits behind the seat without taking up all your trunk space, and only costs around 200-250

i used special mounting brackets normally used for hanging very expensive pictures that takes a special key, to only way for someone to steal the sub is if they steal my jeep.

If you have a 33" spare mounted on your tailgate - you might want to get the tire carrier. I have a 32 with steelie on the factory mount, and a swing out is on my short list.

Then again - I listen to Classical and smooth jazz.

Rockford Fosgate is a premium brand for audio. It will sound great in any vehicle, with size 8" or larger.

You'll be happier with outside accesories.. spend your money on bumpers... I love the SRC bumpers but I'm going to get the Bid Daddy pre-runner...I like the angles on that one

Personally, I'm surprised at the assumed premise that the money from the Government is for your Jeep?! Can't find anything else to spend it on? (Obviously you are not married, eh?!)

I have to run home on lunch whenever my crap comes from 4wd.com and hide it in the garage... then when she see's me working on something, I say "I'm just fixing it"
It's hard to manage a wife and Jeep... you can quote me on that

I'm with you tough jeep. Irratating the wife is not a good idea. I am lucky-my wife supports my hobby of building up my jeep.

Normally my wife spends my allowance but this month, I spent mine and hers all on the Jeep..... guess I'll see what gives when she finds out. Parts should arrive any day.
