Hey everybody, first post on the forums, so if this is in the wrong section or this questioned has already been asked and answered then it's MY BAD!
I have a silver '06 TJ that is getting ready to throw the soft top back on for the summer. Obviously I am looking to take the doors off in the nice weather, so I need to find mirrors to get while the doors are off.
I am assuming the simplest thing to do here is buy relocation brackets and just move the mirror as seen here...
This is what I put on my silver TJ. Just leave a small bracket on when you remove the mirrors. It takes a few seconds per side and you dont have to switch the mirrors back and forth. I really like this solution.
Ive got the set from quadratec that was posted above. I just leave them on all the time as they are hard to get real tight to not move. They whistle too. I don't use my side mirrors at all but they are good for keeping it legal and they look good too
I found some cool ones that a college kid from Texas designed. They are relatively new and unheard of so I posted a thread on here asking people their opinions of them.

They have the mirrors, a foot peg, and they kill the door plunger. Except they are a little pricey...$130.

Check out Steinjager. I have a set of their mirrors. Uses a strong magnet to hold the mirror in the door hinge. I can pull my door and hook up the mirror in 30 seconds.
I've got the American Outlaw. I think they have a great design but for $130 they aren't the quality I expected. Its almost like the mirrors are flat instead of having a little arch in them so its like looking in a zoom lense.
Bought my relocation brackets on eBay for about $20. Much, much better than a diy mirror on the OEM hinge bracket. Love that I can add or remove doors without tools and always have mirrors.
I tried the motorcycle mirror thing, but it vibrated so badly it was almost useless. Plus, I had to get out the wrenches and unbolt them, just to throw the doors on.
I bought mirrors made for a Yamaha Rhino, I'm sure if you didn't have the sport cage you make the mounts easy enough, the view is unparalleled, you can see things in those mirrors that are in your vision without them, and they take up less outside space than stock mirrors.
I plan to have soft upper and lower doors on for the summer so any hinge mounted mirrors are out for me. I'll be putting on a set of the quick release mirrors that mount on the windshield.
I used the Rugged Ridge relocation brackets from Amazon, $30 for the pair. I tried the RR quick release set but I just didn't get the right vibe from the look of the add on mirrors (and they whistled in the wind like a SOB) so I decided on the brackets which use the OEM mirrors.
The only bummer is that the brackets don't have a backing, it's metal on metal when you attach to the Jeep, so I had to add some thin rubber backing. But all greased up on the bolt they come off quick, if I want to put the doors back on it's 10 min of fiddling and done.
