Suggestions needed for grab handle

I need some suggestions for adding an additional grab handle to the driver's side of my TJ. I am a short 5'3" and short legged 29" in seam lady with a 1.75" BB on my TJ. When I get into my TJ I use my roll bar grab handle to pull myself up to the tube step, but when I go to get inside my TJ I tend to grab my steering wheel which I know is a MAJOR no no as over time it can screw up my steering column. I've been trying to grab around the windshield frame instead but that's an awkard angle for my hand. Is there a way to attach a handle to the inside of the windshield frame? I have a soft top from the factory so it's plastic on the inside. If I drill into that to attach a handle am I take a chance of damaging anything? I have a bad back that i'm working on getting fixed but in the mean time my entrance into my TJ is not the most graceful thing to see and i'm hoping a second handle there will help me out.
I've been looking at the Paracode handles made by one of the vendors on here will that work or does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks.

paracord handles ftw. i don't have them. but she's making me a set of door stops. adn the handles look really nice. plus, paracord is impossible to break.

How would I be able to attach those to the door fram beside the windshield? I have a set of grab handles above the door but need something in front of the door area.

the plastic piece your talking about is flimsy. if you attach a handle to it it will probably break. you'll have to drill into the actual door frame underneath which is metal.
