if your tall the spiderweb cuts down on the headroom which i don't like shades well though. looks like the alien is a copy so prob the same sits in the middle of the roll bar.
I prob should have tried the rampage mesh top since I already have the window channel for my soft top.
Did you install it over or under the sound bar? If you put it under, which is incorrect, you loose headroom. If you put it over, it sits right in between the roll cage, which ideally you shouldn't have your head going through
I am for the Spidershade. I recently bought one for my TJ and it made the all the difference in the world for me. The recent heat had caused me to stop using the jeep. I liked the Spidershade so much I bought one for my son and one for a friend. I got the large shade that also covers the back seat. I bought the smaller shades that only covers the front for my son and friend. They both love them also.
I was also worried about not having head room but so far that really hasn't been a problem for any of us. My soft top easily fits over the shade with no adjustments. I also can unhook and roll the front back when I want the full sun on me. In my opinion the spidershade is absolutely a must have and the original idea and design was produced by a jeeper belonging to this forum. All the more reason to stay with them. For the record, I know nothing about the other product so I have no comment regarding their product.
Thanks for the information. Good replies, very helpful. I like the fact that the concept of the Spiderwebshade was from one of this forum's Jeepers. I'll order one of those today.
Prowler,
You'll love the SpiderWeb Shade. SWMBO is not heat tolerant, and it makes a world of difference in her comfort while driving, and I'll admit to liking it myself. It helps cut down some of the wind buffeting, too. (Definitely not water/rain proof.)
Just installed spiderweb last week and it's been on ever since great product don't know about cutting down on headroom it's the same height as soft top
After i seen my first spiderweb shade top I knew I wanted to make my own out of an old trampoline, grommets and bungee balls. It was well worth it and fairly easy accept finding black grommets. Lost most of the good step by step pics from build when phone went swimming but here is the final product.
