Sunrider portion of soft top broke

Over the weekend, I had the sunrider part of the soft top open. When I went to close it to put the top all the way down, I noticed that the hinge on the sunrider part broke. One of the little pins holding the hinge together fell out. Has this happened to anyone else? Any clue where to get the little pin that holds the hinge together?

I don't have any pictures of it since I am at work.

Eric

There is someone here in South Carolina who has a complete frame for sale. Best offer. It's at us.eeps.com in their forum.

That was my first thought. But there is that plastic collar that slides over it to lock it in place when opening the top all the way. It won't slide over it with a screw and nut.

But - if there isn't another easy answer, who really needs that locking collar anyway!

Thanks for the heads up on that. Prolly not worth the shipping all the way to CA though.

Thanks - tried that. They said call Jeep.

I am just gonna run to home depot and get something that will fit to hold it together.

Remove the four screws holding the hinges in place (two Phillips two hex) put a nut and bolt in for the missing pin and grind the bolt down so the collar can slide over it. This also keeps the nut from vibrating loose! I had to replace one of my hinges (2 days after I bought the Jeep) I did a field expeidient version that works very well and didn't cost me a dime.
I have to do the other hinge soon and will post pictures when I do, if anyone is interested.
