Sunrider vs. Replacement Soft Top?

Hello All

I own a 97 TJ with half doors and I am looking into replacing my older spice soft top. I happened to be out on the 4WD site and was just thinking of purchasing another basic replacement soft top when the Bestop Sunrider top caught my eye...

I am wondering if anyone out here owns this type of top and can provide me with pros/cons vs. the standard soft top replacement version....

As a side note, I am planning on having the old one cleaned up and mended to keep as a backup if needed.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The bestop sunrider uses their supertop frame which is a PITA to use. If you want a sunrider, get the Supertop NX which is an OEM like frame.

My sister has a sunrider and she needs to put that extra bar in to keep the top from flapping like crazy. It's a BesTop like you're talking, on her 97 Sport. I have a BesTop factory replacement and I love it.

Basically, your choice if you want the sunrider option, it's a nice option, but I think it's a PITA putting her top on and off and having to deal with that bar to keep it from flapping around

After some more thinking and checking out some reviews, I think I will opt for the standard replacement...not only due to the extra bar and noise factor, but it sounds as though it may be a bit thinner too...probably not what I would want where I live.

Thank you very much for your input! :-)
