Super Swamper TSL

I am thinking about buying some SS TSL off a buddy of mine but i was wondering this will be my daily driver and weekend wheeler, How do yall think they will do on the raod. There not brand knew but still have about 50% tread on them and there a 33x12.5 tire. So if yall could help me out on how this will run on the street and trail. Thank's.....97REDTJ.

which TSL are they? LTB, SSR, 'original' TSL?

Know that they're crappy street tires - don't last long, track funny, and the LTBs flat spot a lot (I have some temporarily ATM to get me by).

If they are bias they will have flat spots until they warm up. Also if they are bias they will wear really fast. I would go with radials but if they are cheap i would get them just to wheel with. I have 31 inch procomp radials and they are wearing pretty good. i would probably not use them on the street if they are bias and too expensive.

I ran 33x12.50's TSL BIas... if you have the radials.. it will be a bit better.. but the sound is like a B-17 in a nose dive. The bias get flat spotting which means for the 1st 10 mins of driving you think you have death wobble. Then things smooth out. Figure if new no more than 20-25k miles out of them and that might be pushing it.

They tend to follow ruts and 'tracks' in the road. Sometimes it's nice on smooth highways as it literally tracks like a train - however on normal roads, or uneven highways, it'll pull you all over the place.

But heck i love the noise of a heavy treaded tire going down the rode. im tired of this little all terrian hum i want a big roar so people can hear me comming ha ha ha. I dont do a lot of highway driving I mainly do city and short ( about 30 to 45 min ) trips if i dont trailer it.

I have the 33X10.50 TSL radials on my jeep and they are a good tire.I drive about 80 miles a day highway and they have about 30k on them and still have a little more than 1/2 tread left on them. There is no uneven wear spots on them and they ride just as good as the BFG KM's I had before.I say for $250 it's hard to pass up.

Be glad you didn't - not only do thornbirds suck on road, they suck even worse off of it.

Dude, i ran 35in tsl sx's and they were like 90% when i got them. They lasted like 6months. I would go with another tire, cuz you gonna end up buying new ones shortly after gettting the tsl's.

Go with MTR's.

I had a set of TSL 33's on my CJ, they were the biased ply and they would hump and bump until they started taking a little heat. I did lots of rocks, mud and gravel while wheeling and driving, I loved those tires and they wore really well. I never ran more than 24psi in them even when on the highway. Yes, they did hunt a little but some of that was the CJ from being used and abused.

TSL is a great tire, I never had a flat with them and never got stuck (unless I high centered). Don't know how many miles i put on them but they lasted a long time for the type of driving that they were used for.

Hey everyone i got the new TSL's on saturday and well.........I LOVE THEM!!!! I got them balenced and mounted on saturday morning and i had the top and doors off and the howl off the tires gave me an ear to ear smile! i went out and did a little trial ridding yesterday and i loved how the tires took control of the trail. With my old A/T's i was worryed about doing some stuff because i know the little knobs could'nt take it but with those TSL's the just bite the ground and go!!! Ill try to get some pics up to show the new tires in action!
