Supertop nx question

I have installed the supertop nx on my jeep but left the support bow off that sticks to the top. It seemed like an option if you didn't plan on opening the top at all. But I have been noticing puddling on the top without it. Is it actually something that should be on all the time? Thanks for the help.

Take a look at their website... They actually recommend the bar to prevent puddling. I live in Florida so for me the bar is option that has to be in all the time.

It also stops some of the flapping when driving.
