Suspension lift question

When I bought my Jeep it already had a lift kit and aftermarket tires on it. The guy told me it had a 6" lift kit on it but I'm trying to verify that. I've measured the tires and they measure at 33.5". I can tell it has a suspension lift but I'm not sure if there is a body lift or not too. For some reason I'm doubting that it has a 6" suspension lift but how can I tell?

take some pics for us...

But, the body and the frame should have bushings without much of a gap. Take a pic of the body and frame together up close from the front or back corners (wherever you can see them both at the same time) and someone should chime in about wether or not they are stock. Aside from that, a side shot pic is all most of these guys need to tell you if your suspension is stock, 2", 4" or 6" lifted.

Definitely not a 6" lift and it doesn't look like a body lift either. I would bet it is a 3" or 4" lift...more than likely suspension of some type.

Awesome so I'm not completely crazy. He was probably adding in the bigger tires in his 6" lift. Snake...

Hell, the salesmen probably didn't know either.. these are the people that say "over size tires" on anything bigger then stock. Just because it makes it sound big!

there is no body lift, and definitely not 6" of suspension lift.

to the OP, post pictures of the track bars, springs, shocks, & bumpstops, and we'll tell you how bad you got screwed.

With the need bars sitting where they are and and the clearance on 34" tires my money is on 1" body and 2" budget. We should start a pool.

Ah ok..

I'm gonna agree with a budget boost kit. Probably a 3inch. If you save the pic and zoom in on it, at the back wheel well you can see there is no gap on the frame so there probably ain't a body lift.

A stock tj will clear 31 10.50's so a 2 1/2 - 3inch budget boost could put ya on 34's.

Don't take this as a slam but if you don't know what your looking at, probably shouldn't be buying until you do.

Why would you take anyone's word with out doing your own research first? You should always know what your looking for before you do anything.

What is a budget boost? Is that not a whole suspension lift?

I do know that it has Rancho RS5000 shocks on it. If that helps at all.

No its not, a budget boost comes with what ya need to lift it, its doesn't come with the proper links and arms to even everything back out. So you get your lift, but you will wear out your suspension faster. It's a cheap setup to make it look cool but has no performance/ ride gains

I wasn't buying it for the suspension lift... I just fell in love with the Jeep when I saw it and for a 2002 to only have 42,000 miles I couldn't pass it up. Lift kit or not I would have bought it either way. the reason i'm posting is because I'm trying to learn.

There is no BL. the nerf bars are sitting right where they should for no BL, same with the rear bumper, and there is no seperation between the frame at the grill support.

No worries, I didn't take it personally. I usually am the type of person that researches the crap out of things before I buy. But when you're talking about a car (Jeep i should say) there are a million things you could research.

Wouldn't be surprised if the car lot spent 300 for the kit, so they could add 1500 to the price... its just the way a lot of car lots do things these days.

I think you're right, because of the shadows and angle of the pic my 1" body lift must have fallen off. Ha. My money is still on bl and bb.
