swapping from 3.07 to 4.56..HELP

So when swapping out the gears in my dana 30 front, i came across a problem, the pinion isn't sitting the way it should, therefore my jeep is still sitting on the lift. Apparently there is two choices to fix this, thats either to install a new carrier, which is very expensive. or to buy a ring gear spacer to allow the pinion to sit well with the ring gear.

So could anybody tell me what ring gear spacers i need for the dana 30 front and dana 35 rear, when switching from 3.07 gears to 4.56?

Do a search on google shopping. Dana 30 carrier for 3.73 and up starts at 54 bucks

i peronally wouldn't use a spacer, i would get a new carrier.

EDIT: after doing a quick search some of the spacers are more expensive than a carrier.. also this has nothing to do with the way the pinion is setting, this is all ring gear related. Not trying to be a a@# hole but are you sure you are capable of setting up these gears? carrier breaks are pretty common knowledge when installing new gears..just saying...

Haha, i feel like an idiot but yeah when i first ordered the ring and pinion, it just completly slipped my mind, i figured the gear set was coming with the carrier, which it didn't. It is the first gear set that i will be doing, but there is a first for everything.
But thanks for the help guys, i just had the low ratio carriers ordered.

bada$$tj is right swapping gears is not as easy as it sounds.....be sure to check your backlash and depth of your pinion gear on the ring gear or you will be sorry....it can be done with basic tools but be prepared to take the carrier in and out several times and re shim to to correct backlash and and gear depth. most gear sets will come with shim assortments.

i have seen gears destroyed after only a few hundred miles when set up incorrectly....do not hesitate to reshim to perfection and ask for help if needed...
