Switched to Hardtop Today

Today I removed my Bestop softop(love it) and put my hardtop(love it also) back on because I can. It sure is a lot less noisey now! I know that soft tops are O K for winter but those photos posted of all the snow piled up on top of them made me think that all the stresses of winter conditions can't be good for it. When taking off the Bestop hardware be sure not to let the rectangle shaped nut on the bow mount fall when removing and if it does it's handy to have a telescopic magnet to retrieve it. Also I had to remove the metal brackets that secure the rear window to the tub or my hard top hatch would'nt close all the way. While I was at it I treated all the door seals. I also had to remove a wasp nest from inside the hard top. The wasps were unhappy but luckily they were a little chilly.

I'm in good ol California and I just put my hard top on today also. I've had the Safari top on all summer. It sure is nice and quiet with the hard top on though........and warm too.
