Sticky lifters maybe

Put some sea foam in the crankcase and drive 100 miles then change the oil and if that doesn't work may need to ask a mechanic.

"Diesel" noise is not usually tied to the "bottom end".

Bottom end noise is rod knock and very distinctive if you've ever had the unpleasant chance to hear it.

Diesel noise is usually a upper valve train type of noise. More of a clackity clack type of noise.

Ive had 2 dieselie jeeps , most of the time they where noisie in cold weather and would get quiet once warmed up.
I used 5w30 moble 1 in them and it seened to help .
they both ran for 50/ 60 thousand miles with the noise so i stoped swetting it .
My 04 rubicon is still quit with 80gs on it . but that is where the noise seems to start .
