t case linkage wont stay on.

well after having the tranny shop rebuild my tranny three times (because of their faults) i go offroading and after a few hrs of it t case popped into 2wd. i go to put it back into 4wd and the shifter moves with no drag. the linkage popped off. so i put it back on. it works for a little while i go to shift into 2wd same thing. popped out. is there supposed to a clip or ring the holds linkages in or something worn that im just not seeing.

what i did was have the jeep off. put it in 4high .then crawl under the jeep and on the shifter for the transfer case link ther is a bolt i think its a 13 mm or 14. loosen it so the shift rod can be adjusted. then u can adjust it so it doesnt pop out. tighten it to wher it should be and that should get rid of it popping out. it could be popping out also if u have a transfer case lowering kit on it too

its not a adjustment problem.. the actual rod that the adjusting bolt is goes through a hole. on the bottom of the shifter lever. and thats what comes out. ill get a couple of shifts of the tcase and it comes out. idk why it keeps coming out.

Sounds like the place that did the tranny work forgot to put a nut or cotter pin back in?
