tail light trouble

Both of my tail lights wont work when my lights are on. the brake lights work fine when pressed and turn signals work. its very odd for them to burn out at the same time if that was the problem. any help would be great.

Did you install a set of aluminum tail light guards over your rear tail lights by any chance? Have you done anything in the back where the bolts that hold the tail lights to the tub may not be inserted like the factory installed them?

i have not drove the jeep for acouple months and recently drove it because of fresh snowfall. I have not messed with it nor installed anything over them. but my dash lights do not work now also. i was guessing it was a fuse problem but found it weird that the dash and tailights would stop working at the same time.

Sounds exactly like a missing/loose/intermittent electrical ground now. I'd go through the Jeep and make sure all the wiring connected to the chassis, engine, tub, etc., which are the ground connections, are solid and tight.

I'm having this exact same problem with mine but my front markers lights don't work either but blinkers work. Found anything out?

I was having a simular problem I just about tore the jeep apart . I changed flashers brake switch and still nothing. I finally just replaced both bulds and it cured it it was a bad bulb that would makeup sometimes . I would try the brake switch and bulbs.

You think that the brake switch would cause the dash lights, radio lights and running lights to not work?

Well I checked all my fuses and they were all good. I went so far as to take my dash apart and nothing. I checked the tail light with a test light and only one pin on the brake/tail light. If I turn the bulb around I got nothing. Well I noticed my blinkers were out so I replaced those and tada I have running lights. But I still have no dash lights. I got to looking though and there are a couple of wires that have been cut that run infront of the fuse box behind the globe box. Two pulse my test light and one is solid when the headlights are on but the others are dead. Could these go to the dash and climate controls?

Its funny one bulb will short circuit all the lights. When I tore the dash apart on mine I seen those wires behind the glove box. Mine were tied upfrom the factory think they were labled spare. As for the dash lights check the connections.

I know I was so excited when I got the running lights to work. Makes no sense to me but I'm not gonna question it. I never even though about checking the connections crap. Well for now I'll just get some pod lights from Wal-Mart until I have the time to figure this out

Rear Tail lights out

I have an 02 TJ and my tail lights are not working. All other lights and signals work. Bulbs replaced and fuses checked. Wondering if it has to do with the fuses under the hood? Nothing is labeled "tail lights" and the manual was no help. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Check the tail light bulb holders with a test light or volt meter and go from there.
