Tailgate Prop?

Anyone make/bought something like this to keep the tailgate open? Quadratec wants $50 for something with a gas shock that keeps it open, looks like something make-able...anyone have any pictures?

Hoodlift 93106 - HoodLift Rear Tailgate Prop for 87-06 Jeep® Wrangler YJ, TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec

Also, mounting an ammo can inside the engine bay, and one on the inside of the tailgate. Pics will come soon.

I usually use my butt to hold it open. Otherwise, I usually have some sort of junk in
back I can use to hold it open. Saves me $50

Another option is to park with the drivers side tires on a curb. Works everytime.

I just keep my Bestop spare tire carrier a little on the tight side and it stays wherever it's opened to until I close it...lol

I make sure I park so the passenger side is pointed downhill if I've gotta load a lot of stuff. Gravity's a hell of a tailgate prop.

I was just thinking the same thing. Since installing my tire carrier, haven't had to think about trying to keep it open.
