Talk about a RIP OFF!!! jeep dealer

So when i got my jeep the back glass was broken out and did not have any parts with it.. no biggy right... WRONG!.. So i found a good price on a new back glass so i got that for 250. I have the hinge and the brackets for the lift rods and the lift rods. but no bolts, or washers or anything. I found a wiper motor on ebay cheap so i got that..

SO i went to the dealer to buy the bolts and washers and the little spray nozzle for the washer fluid.. got the price back $300 bucks!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!

thats just insaine for a few bolts and washers and such.. any idea how i can get things working... i got the hinge working so the glass is actually on the jeep now but I cant get the lift rods on since i dont have the bolts for that.. any ideas???

Do you have Jeep part numbers for those $300 worth of parts? Are the nuts/bolts/washers an odd size you can't just buy locally in a well equipped hardware store?

ya they are weird sizes because they attach the the bracket for the prop rod.. and are like a figure 8 shape and carriage bolt. so that the bracket doesn't spin.. I am going to get a print off when i go in there and pick up a few other things i ordered.. I think i got the hinge ok.. just the prop rods that are going to take some tricky DIYing... i was thinking maybe a plastic nut in the middle so the bolt doesnt spin and maybe a plastic carriage bolt?

ya really, you should be able to find nuts and bolts elsewhere. do you really need the washer nozzle?? is there a gaping hole or something important missing? if not, and you don't want to spend money, nuts and bolts won't cost you $10 most likely

Don't feel bad, I needed 8 of those retainer push pins you use to hold the inner door liner on the door, those puppies were $4 EACH from the dealer, I bought 4 just so I could see what they looked like, found em online for a bag of 50 for $4. They were for the 97ZJ.

dealers are ripoffs. I paid 150 bucks for 15 bucks in parts and 20 minutes in labor to fix my tcase shift linkage rattle. I wish, back then i knew as much as i do now.

Nah, that guy just wouldn't pay that much for the parts, either. He used superglue instead!!!
