I have a 2005 jeep wrangler x and I'm not really sure about how big of a tank I have. I don't have a manual that tells me. Is it in the door jam sticker or anywhere?
19 Gallon tank, mine sits on the E with the low fuel light on and I can only put a little over 14.5 gallons in. When the light comes on I add 14.5 Gallons and know it won't spew out at me.
I know I can put in like 14.5 with it on empty or close to it. Then how could it be a 19 gallon. And thanks guys when I get to my jeep after work I'll put it in the Vin thing
It has to do with the vent tube. There is a modification you can do to shorten the vent tube (ya have to drop the fuel tank to do it). It allows you to get more fuel in the tank.

Same with mine. The other day my light came on and i was no where near a gas station. I drove another 55 miles had a total of 280 miles on my trip odo. Needle was buried. I filled up and put 15 gallons in! Thought no way it's full. Squeeze d the trigger again to watch it spray my jeep! The gas needle was past full a tick. She was full!
