Which 3" kit the basic one or the more complete one? If basic I would look into getting a front adjustable track bar.

that is the same lift I have. My wife had it installed for me. The only thing that they had to add was a new steering stabilizer. I've had the lift for just over 2 months and I like it. It rides good and looks good.

you missed the thread from when I got the lift then. It was a Valentine's/early Anniversary Surprise. I wish all of you luck on finding a wife like her.

I wouldn't think so...what gears do you have? at least a 3.73 and you should be fine.

yeah whatever came stock on the X... i think the dana 35 did right which has the 3.73? a couple quick searches on google told me that
Specifications - 2006 Jeep Wrangler X - Yahoo! Autos
i'm happy with it haha

you didnt mess with a body or motor mount lift or anything right... just that 3" kit from bds and the steering bar? and were still golden on the highway?

Russ- just got mine back from the shop and it is awesome!! I have the same lift kit, just didn't put the transfer case lowering kit on because I went with a SYE and Tom Wood driveshaft. I am going to try to do an alignment tonight after work. I would go with a 15x8" wheel...I believe it has something to do with the tire staying on the bead better when aired down. I think the lift looks much higher than 3" though, but can't be sure as I never measured it before the lift.

I didn't notice a difference driving from the shop to my house yet and I have 3.07 gears. Checked 4 low by climbing up my old tires and it worked fine. I plan to head to Wolcott tomorrow for some Airsoft which is a 40 mile trip one way so we will see how it does. Fingers crossed.

My labrador picked out a Warn winch, mounting plate, and Warn bumper for me for Father's Day a couple of years ago. Got a chuckle out of the wife!

The only change I would definitely (!) make is to go with 15x8 instead of 15x10 wheels. For the size tires you're going to be installing and indeed even up to 35x12.50 or even 37x12.50, a 15x8 works better if you offroad. A 15x8 works fine on the street too, that's what I run with my 35x12.50 tires on my TJ that is driven nearly every day.

The reason that most experienced offroaders run 15x8 is that when you air your tires down to go offroad, the tires can maintain their seal (not "lose the bead" on the wheel) far more easily than they can on a 15x10 wheel. It's easy to understand if you think of it this way... it takes less air pressure to hold a tire securely seated against two edges 8" apart than if they are 10" apart. And no (!), your tires won't wear unevenly on 15x8 wheels providing you simply use the correct air pressure on the street.

haha you trained that dog well! ill have to ask you for some advice when i get my dog...

and yeah tax return is like a 2nd christmas a year... even though its my money to begin with and i'm just getting it late... oh well...

ive always thought wider was better so thats why i was going to go with the 15x10s. 15x8 i thought would make the jeep look too tall and skinny with it lifted... i dont think i'll ever air down except to drive on the beach. i'm not a hardcore off roader like most jeep owners... just some fun in the snow and an outdoor lifestyle... i dunno... now you've got me all back and forth. way to go!

if i went with the ome 2" lift could i still fit 15x8s and 33s or should i go down to 31 or 32?

A 2" lift won't give enough clearance for 33" tires, I'd go for nothing bigger than 32" tires with that amount of supension lift height... and especially no bigger wheel size than 15x8 with any of those smaller tire sizes.

i have a stock wrangler, some say that 31X10.50 wont fit on a stock ride height without any rubbing... well, i not experienced any rubbing yet. they say for each inch of tire you need one inch of lift. get some 31's and see how they sit.

Stock unlifted Rubicons come right from the factory with 31" tires and their suspensions are no taller than a stock TJ's is. Stiffer, but not taller.

Are you planning on doing the install yourself or a shop? I think once you go 3" or higher you should probably do a SYE and driveshaft to eliminate any possible driveline vibes that could occur.

na i think i'll go with this ome 2" lift and 31s... 33s are gonna be real loud and dominate any gas mileage i have right now... i'm gonna be spending some quality time on the highway this summer.

did you like that shop that put in your 3" lift? i'd love to find a good 4x4 shop around here but fairfield county isnt exactly a 4x4 haven.

With a 2" lift, 32" tires would fit perfectly. You don't even need a lift to run 31" tires which is what the unlifted Rubicon comes with.

That looks like the same kit I have, does it have the quick discos for the front swaybar? I've had mine for about 2 years, no issues, I think it actually rides better than stock! I haven't had to do the steering stabilizer yet, but I think I'll need to eventually.

The only other piece of advice I could offer, nothing to do with this lift in particular, would be to do the transfer case lever fix at the same time, mine is almost impossible to get into 4-lo.

Yes it has the front discos and they put a stabilizer on it because it helped with the balancing of the tires (it took them awhile). I love the kit, it rides good, it looks good, my 55mph wobble is gone, and everyone stares at it at stop lights.
