Man, he made a GREAT buy!

For me that Marine Corp stuff would be gone in an instant. I retired from Navy submarines, it needs a snorkle and periscope....Other than that, I love it

The only good marine is a submarine

The backside of the truss appears to be missing the brace that goes down to the diff cover bolts. If it is and you force the front hard to climb a waterfall or similar, you will fold up the truss.

The engagement on the slip spline at the rear driveshaft should be checked. It looks like it has a lot of spline showing. If it has minimal engagement, it will wear much faster and need replaced sooner.

I would support the frame on jackstands, pull the rear tires and droop it out to see if the CV is binding. It's operating at a pretty severe angle.

The front swaybar is interesting. Looks to be aftermarket with eyes turned horizontal. Wonder whose it is?

Overall, the rig is overly tall for my tastes. It has a long arm kit and even then my first impression was that it was on a lift in a shop somewhere due to how much angle the arms had.

That tire and rim combo is hard to balance and keep balanced. Keep an eye on that because even a slight shimmy will wear parts in the front end pretty fast.

F/T is a pretty decent company, but they have had some issues with joint longevity. Give 'em a good going over to see how they are doing.

I would also see what it takes to get the rear swaybar back in there.
Good eyes you have there.

Also keep in mind the 4.56 gearing is not a good choice with those tires or even 35 inch tires. One more thing to think about.

OP - was this your old rig? If so, it is awesome! Wish mine looked like that. Either way, good luck with the new Jeep and agree with other posters, a lot of helpful information from the members here!

Enjoy it! When Mr. Blaine speaks, people listen. Although, I've never asked for his opinion, I had received his opinion in many other post.

Are you / were you a Marine? Being retired Army, that would be my first question of you, should I see you. If you were not, well, it's still yours.

#8 tells the rest of the story. The reason that boot is split is due to the tie rod rolling which is adding to the dead spot.
