Post Thanks for the help!!!

well, i am the dumb one who asked if it would be a good trade from frontier to wrangler.. well, today i drove 60 miles to look at a 1998 sport with 84000miles with it looked like a 3in lift and some 33" bf tires. inter. was nice. the bad things were it was a 2.4l and from everybody help i was able to tell that it had a dana 35(plastic plug). just driving it to 40mph seemed to have a hard time. with me being new to jeep wouldnt that be a bad set up. and does $7500 sound right for it? thanks again for the help and i am still determine to find me an ol' jeep.....

Just so ya know, that '98 four-banger engine is a 2.5L. The 2.4L didn't come around until years later. That TJ is still likely running the factory 4.10 axle gearing so regearing it to 4.88 (about $1200) for those 33" tires would improve its performance very dramatically.
When you have a choice, buy American.

I don't know where you are but prices are regional, I have two 97's, bought them over 5 years ago, paid under $4500 for each of them, in fact I got my blue one for $3200, both with under 100K, the blue one took a new top and seat covers. so add in $600 and $200. The one you are looking at seems about 2K high in my opinion unless you are in an area that ties their jeep prices to the gold standard.

Definitely too high, if you have patience I have a Black 97 se with brand new hamsters, I mean a brand new S&S motor in it on 33's. It is on a puck (budget lift) lift so it drives like stock, has a 1 yr old sail cloth top in the process of puting a new clutch in it, has new rear end gears, all new exhaust, basically brand new in excellent condition. I think I'm going to put it up for auction on e bay with a 4000.00 reserve. Oh I have every last reciept and the engine has a 7 year 70,000 mi waranty on it. there is 400 mi on the new engine. If anyone wants pics let me know.
