The eye of the storm!

So I left work today headed to the gym it's sunny as hell but there was one small dark cloud in the sky. I drove thru a small patch of rain on my way to the gym but drove out of it no problem. Well once I got in the gym Noah and the ark came by and it rained and rained and rained. Needless to say I was doorless and the windows were out.

So that being said when I left I had a nice 6 inches of standing water in my floor board. I pulled the drain plugs and got as much water out as I can. I soaked alot more of it up when I got home but here are my questions.

1. What are the things I need to worry about getting wet inside the jeep. The dash got a little wet but not too bad. I know the obvious radio, instrument panel ect.

2. I know in alot of vehicles they run a wiring harness down the center of the tub. Where is the harness ran on tj's? Is there any wiring under the carpet?

3. After this I have decided my next project will be to Rhino\Huerculine the tub. I have read a few post on hurculining the tub yourself. How hard is this to do. Does it hold up? What would I be looking at in price for doing it myself. I am no stranger to ripping the guts completly out of a car so im not worried about that. Any recomendations or advice would be appreciated.

4. Anyone ever added aditional drain plugs. I know I can opperate a hole saw pretty well and gromets would be easy enuff to come across anyone ever done anything like this. Would be an easy mod thats for sure and be helpfull when I do get caught in the rain.

Thanks
-Rip

You can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking your head up a bull's ass but wouldn't you rather take the butcher's word for it!

ive doon the same, just take the carpet out and hose it down and hang it to let it air dry, the rest you just wipe down and let it dry out in the sun as much as possible. ive never had smelly interior issues.

1. Most of the wiring to the rear runs down the drivers side under the door.
2. Just what you said, try to keep the exposed electronics dry.
3. 30 or 40 bucks and your time to herculine your tub, I did it and its great!
4. Just use a 3/8 drill bit and drill a hole where the drain plugs stop bailing water.
Hope it helps. The herculiner is real easy to take care of and clean. Add some waterproof seat covers and your good to go.
