Hello everyone, ive heard many different things about time between oil changes, and how the type of oil matters between the time, along with how many miles are on your vehicle.

Im a firm believer of sticking to the owners manual like white on rice, whether my jeep needs it or not, my dad on the other hand is a "get the oil changed and have some good tires and let the rest eat" kinda guy. (his jeep has lasted 335k miles though... )

We are running mobil 1 full synthetic high mileage in my jeep with 335k miles. It does run through a little oil because there is a small leak so we are putting a quart or two in once a month. He says to wait 10,000 miles between oil changes because its full synthetic, but i say hell no because of the mileage on the engine and that it should be changed every 3000.

Who is correct? also, post your mileage, the oil you run, and how long you go between changes. thanks!

OCI-(Oil Change Interval), When using Castrol syn oil in the wife car I change it at every 5000 miles but never let run passed 7500 miles. In my Jeep I run Castrol 20W-50 convention oil and change every 3000 miles. I'm a BMW tech so I have seen the long interval for sometime and I'm not that sold on 10,000 plus intervals with syn oils. It doesn't cost that much to change the oil more often.
