The Mistake Every Jeep owner makes...

So I'm pretty sure I just made the mistake that every jeep owner has made in his or her lifetime. I left the top off last night and didn't account for dew it got down to 55 degrees last night. So this morning I was greeted with a nice coat of dew on EVERYTHING. I thought "hmm that dew is on the inside of the windshield...". I guess it will dry out in the sun today haha.

How many of us have had to find an overpass to stop under to put the top up when you are caught in an unexpected rain storm. When the sky starts to look ugly I watch the oncoming vehicles and if they have their wipers on I head for the first overpass to park under to do that.

I pulled in the service drop off bay at a Ford dealership one day to put my top up!

I used a self-serve car wash bay as shelter once.

Theres two things you will need to keep in the Jeep to correct this problem, I leave my top down whenever possible and there is always dew on everything in the mornings
I have found that the two most important things to keep in the Jeep are a small squeegee and a hand towel from your bathroom, teh hand towel is to wipe of the steering wheel and anything else you don;t want to stick an arm or hand on the Squeegee is for the inside of the windshield

Been there, had to do that, suddenly realized that my door frames were with my full steel doors on the back porch at home
So I wound up getting wet anyway, thats when I downloaded a few weather programs for my Blackberry
I see rain I keep the doors on now, I tend to learn quick.

I never paid attention to the weather. Years ago I parked my YJ with the top down as I always did for the summer. It was a nice night so I didn't put my cover and went to sleep. A huge storm came and filled my tub up with water and soaked my seats. Kicker of the story is UPS came later that day with my neoprene seat covers. Now I get weather updates on my phone.

I keep a couple of towels in mine. One for my 3 year old to cover up with and one for me to wipe things down with. We've ( my daughter and I) have been caught a few times in a sudden downpour. She just laughs from under the towl and says, "it's raining inside the Jeep daddy!".......
Good times!

The key is to keep moving. Most of the rain blows over you and eventually you will drive out if it!

Killed the factory CD player because of the rain, and then 2 years later same thing with the aftermarket that replaced that. All our friends are convinced the position of our Jeep top controls the rain

I was driving into a rainstorm and had to give up when there was too much rain on the inside of the windshield to see.

At night I just put the top up and hook the header latches for good measure to keep the dew away. I think a bikini would help solve that.

Sue somebody. There is a constitutional protection that guarantees dew process.

one day i had my top down to go to school in the morining, it was abeautiful morning, not a cloud.....

within a 1/2 hour of class storm clouds roll in...
i simply ask the teacher if i can go to the parking lot to put my top up...
request, declined...even after tons of protesting and "itll only take 5 minutes!!"
nothing

by now the clouds are so thick it looks it was night time, at 8am!

and then i hear it....the BOOM, and the heavy rain crashing into the windows....

nothing that was said in that class that day was retained....all i could think about was how much this whole thing sucks....

it rained for about 1 1/2 hours...

by the time i could get out to put the top on, the rain stopped.....i shooked my fist at the sky and walked back inside....the rest of the day was beautiful....

but hey! all i had to do was pop the drain plugs and let er' dry for a couple days
-_-

My steering wheel now has bubbles on it from leaving the top down one night. If you pop them there's liquid in them. Oh well.

Just little bubbles about a centimeter in size. I'll have to take a pic tomorrow.
