This was a show we happened to catch on the History channel a few weeks ago. It was an interesting view of what the world would be like if we happened to just run out of oil one day. (it is not about how that happens, it is about the Aftermath if it did)

I'm with talon, picked up and old Saturn for very cheap as my DD. It should pay for itself in savings very quickly especially if gas keeps going up. Now I can also put my Jeep out of commission for a week and still get to work fine

Heres whats really happening. I saw it on tv when one guy spilled the beans.

We, ( the world ) are still producing more a day than we use a day
We, ( the world) are paying higher prices each day because the investors sell the worlds entire energy supply back and forth at least 8 times a day making a profitt each time
We, (the world) are the ones who suffer because somebody is making money off of the energy sales
Speculators screw us each time energy is sold by saying the price will go up $XXXXX amount each time
We, (the world) are the ones who pay the price for allowing this to happen.
We, ( the world) can't complain or we ( the world) are called a bunch of whiners. and told theres nothing we can do
and last but not least we (most of the world) are stupid enough to believe them

Chevy volt. FTW. Nissan leaf.
As long as you have at least one gas driven badass vehicle I'm becoming less opposed to a "tree hugger" ride. Hybrids are kinda cheeky IMO. But hydrogen powered or fully electric cars. That's pretty cool...or a yamaha r6.

I know that you get a lot more sunshine than other provinces of Canada. I've been to Alberta several times; I especially enjoyed Banff and Jasper Park. However, I never did develop a taste for Grasshopper beer. Too hoppy in my humble opinion.
We do have refineries, the economy is doing better than that of the US depending on which province you live in, the weather is crazy as usual we got about a foot of heavy wet snow the other night as for the Big Rock Grasshopper I can't stand that beer either actually I don't know many people who even drink Big Rock Brewery's beer, LOL.

1.32 per litre here so that works out to about 5.25 gallon. I cant afford to do any extra driving. whats the point in having an offroad vehicle you cant afford to drive. Oh well at least if I get a couple people together we can afford to go up the mountain to the lakes.
Might have to buy a bike to get back and forth to work.

the volt is a joke. It runs almost on gas the whole time.. I think maybe 35 40 miles on the green engine.. rest is gas.. 30mpg give or take.. for $50k price.. way too much.

We are going to run out of oil, because we are using it faster than we can get it and at this rate there already is barely enough to go around. I bet it's going to be very exciting. (As in: Not at all exciting)

Just looked on chevy's web page for the volt. Gets 37mpg on gas, rated 93 mpge which is gas and electric. And MSRP is $37k. Seems like a good investment to me.

True. But if I'm going to buy a fuel saver vehicle. It's gonna be a fuelless vehicle, all electric or I'm gonna stay on my bike

Just took a approximately 600 mile trip this past 5 days and it ran us a $125.00.

We just got back yesterday from Indiana and it cost $4.15 per gallon in IL.

Christ! Lol! the room we stayed in cost $150 for two nights and gas was almost equal.

By the way, that was only 15.8 gals. We still had some in the tank.

We filled up twice. Once going down and once coming back.
