The ongoing adventures of the 32rh

K... As some may know I flooded the 32rh I had so I found one on craigslist and had it installed. So... I figured... let me get in this thing and see whats goin on. Bought the rebuild kit and started breaking into it. Note: As long as you have a clean place to work and some basic hand tools.... anyone can rebuild this thing.... Just take lots of pics!! Anyways... the problem was that after I flushed the trans. it wouldnt shift from first to second... Drove fine but no shift. Well... I replaced the the clutches and bands and havent located a smoking gun problem... The bands looked a little burnt.. maybe... clutches were fine... The over-running clutch seems to be functioning correctly. So I figured it must be in the valve body.... besides finding a little residual water in the form of light colored trans fluid.... everything else looks fine. Any ideas of what the problem could be with the shifting.... I was really hoping to find the problem. Thanks.... pics of rebuild to come.

Rick

I'm sure there are plenty like me who are very interested but don't have a clue what could be wrong. I never saw any deeper into my 32RH other than what you see when its pan is off or underneath the output seal. Good luck with it, I'll be following this thread to learn something.

I'm interested as well...but the last time I worked on a transmission and dropped the valve body was the furthest I ever got...and I broke more than I fixed. LOL

OK... reviving an old thread... just realized never put pics up... Here is a link to all the pics I took while taking this thing apart. Not really a guide but just an idea of what this monster looks like on the inside.... Enjoy

I don't know much about the 32Rh but when I had shifting problems with my 4L60E it turned out to be a bad shift solenoid?
