The Tale of the man that didn't listen to the advise given

So I been in the process of switching some of the various hinges and such for black Stainless Steel and thought it would nice to switch out my windshield hinges. At this point I did the normal thing and went on line and searched for posts involving the replacement of hinges and found that this had been tried and did not work out so well. So being a smart guy, I decided that this would not be the case in my install and I went ahead and ordered them. Well what do you know, the darn things don't fit and I ended up in the exact same situation. So the moral of the story is, don't ignore the advise given here and don't order Kentrol Back Stainless Steel windshield hinges for 97-2003

derekshep has got it right. Any company should be called to task if they're selling something that's advertised to fit and doesn't. It might keep other people from getting ripped off also.

Well I did listen to my own advise this time and that was to listen to you guys.. So I did email Kentrol back and what I got in response was somewhat of a let down. Basically I was told that they check every part and that I should just get another set. Not sure what I expected but I know this part was not checked. Oh well, live and learn.

willysmb,

did you have any problem getting the bolts out of the tailgate when you replaced the hinges? I was thinking about getting a set of these hinges and have heard the bolts are next to impossible to get out. Any tricks?
