thieves....

I haven't had any problems up here at college with people taking stuff out of the Jeep, however back home during the summer in the suburb it gets hit once in a while. Usually its just local high school kids walking around at night looking for freebies and stuff. I had a back pack taken out a couple years ago ( my dumb fault for leaving it in there overnight ) and last summer someone took all the change out of my cup holders etc- grand heist of a couple bucks. This summer I'm a little nervous- I recently put a 2 gauge pod on the a-pillar on the drivers side ( clock/vacuum gauges) and a B/M shift handle. What do you guys think about someone trying to steal those things? I'm guessing they won't bother the gauges/ handle since they're just punk kids looking for quick grabs/ change. Most nights I park it topless with the weather cover over it.

Most things that require tools or at least noise and time to take most criminals will avoid. They are looking to reach in, grab, and run. There are things like receivers that are worth more money (to a crook) than a shifter. If you are worried about it, put some of the blue thread lock on there, you can get if off if the time comes, but it won't be super easy to do.

HA, someone stole my change (actually only the quarters) when I was living on campus. They didn't touch my b&m. Everything else of value went in my lock box.
