Well I ordered a bikini top from bestop and i think i need a header channel. I already have a soft top which I thought was all i needed but aparently im still missing something. Can i mount the header channel on top of my existing soft top hardware that is already on the top of the windsheild? Will it interfere with the closing of the soft top? Also if this is what I need does anyone have one for sale?????? Let me know
Also drill or no drill? Is it worth the extra money?
On a TJ, when you take the top off, there is no remaining hardware on the windshield.
I've had 2 of the drill type headers. They are ok, but I dont have anything to compare against. They just mount to the top of the windshield on the inside with self tapping screws. They do make the soft top latches a little tight, but not too bad.
I use a no drill header and it just uses a bracket that bolts into the header on each side and fits into the same slot that the soft top latches into. Simple process and takes 2 minutes to take on and off with a half in socket.
No drill here, I got a outland top as a backup and the header i got from that works on my bestop bikini top.
