Those with full doors...

Have you ever painted, or thought about painting, part of the door frame? I have a silver 04 X and I've thought about it and might do it. I just don't like the look of the full door frame around the glass on light-colored wranglers. It just looks odd. What do you think?

the thoughts never crossed my mind, but i like the look, i kinda like the bottom one, where u painted the frame around the window and the section above the handle. how did u edit the pics to make it look like u did it? photoshop or somethin?

i like the bottom pic. what you might try doing is putting some painters tape on the part of the door that you are considering painting and then paint over the tape to see if you like it. it is such a small thin area and it should give you an idea of exactly how it looks before you make the change.

that one is cool. if you painted it the same color as the rest of it it would look like a half door.

I like that look...if it was black. But Silver (or white) makes the window frame look a little odd. I might try painting that part first and see what it looks like...similar to the second picture.

I like that, but it doesn't follow the body line of the door.

I like this. Even if it doesn't follow the body line, it matches up to the window frame. There is a better flow to the look, in my opinion.

I would definitely do the first one without painting the forward portion of the frame so it blends in with the A piller. But I like the look of the top and back being painted. Go for it.

I think that's when it looks the worst...when the only silver part is the door frame.

I think (jmho) I would use vinly or grip tape, so as it were'nt there to stay. That way if I changed my mind I could peel and clean and start over.
