Throttle Body Spacer?

I know I drive a jeep and I bought it expecting poor gas mileage but im struggling to get 15mpg city and highway combined. Iv read a little about throttle body spacers and was wondering if anyone knew if they actually helped with mpg's. Does anyone have other suggestions for relatively low cost remedies? I would be thrilled to get 17.

I have a 01 with 31 BFG's not lifted

I got one eight years ago...I was getting 15 mpg before and after I put it on...15 mpg. Just think of the savings I've gotten after 140,000 miles of getting the same mileage as before. you do the math.

You can give me $100 and ill tell you your getting better mileage. I can give you a link to modifying your throttlebody for 1-2 Nov increase. Won't be able to go back to stop though.

If you are going to get one keep in mind you are going to need two of them, one to $hit on and the other to cover it up with good luck.

Bottom line? Throttle body spacers don't help with fuel economy and they don't help with performance. At least not when installed underneath the air only type of throttle body that the TJ uses.
When you have a choice, buy American.

Drive slow, shift to high gears as much as possible for steady speed, and then downshift before you accelerate. Keep the top and windows on. That is good for a couple mpg.
